Introduction
To contribute to Europe and Belgium’s ambitions for the Energy Transition, our client has foreseen to extend its offshore high voltage grid, by constructing the Princess Elisabeth Island. The island shall be a hub to connect the new Belgian windfarms situated within the “Princess Elisabeth Windfarm zone”.
We are looking for a Site Engineer to join this project.
Function
Reports to the Construction manager
Is working at the Vlissingen site (Smulders SPN).
Ensures together with the Construction manager that the main priorities, Safety and Quality, are guaranteed on site
In charge of alignment with the Engineering team, acting as SPOC for engineering queries (mainly electromechanical)
Works in a multidisciplinary teams together with, amongst others: welding & coating inspectors, E&I & Mechanical inspectors, safety inspectors, outfitting engineers, design engineers, construction managers,…
Supports the Construction manager in management of the site team, as well as interactions with the EPC Contractor and Elia O&M team.
Has technical (mainly electromechanical) ownership for issues during outfitting on site, escalating major issues to the Construction Manager
Act as the knowledge center/expert for all inspectors on site (incl. full knowledge of all contractor’s documents and ER’s/Employers document)
Act as a lead for quality topics on the yard (follow up of non-conformities, quality processes, …)
Maintain internal systems & processes to manage incoming inspection reports of inspectors, to allow focussed and clear communication towards the EPC contractor and the site team.
Coordinates & participates in inspections on site
Participates in review of documents submitted by the contractor
Coordinates Elia vendors coming on site (together with the responsible project leaders and construction manager).
Prepare weekly and monthly reports (together with the construction lead)
Support the team with diverse tasks: for example: cost benefit analysis of variants, …
Requirements
You have at least 3 years of relevant working experienceExperience in the offshore sector is preferable.
Experience with topside outfitting is preferable.
Experience with multiple disciplines is preferable.
Experience with Quality Control/Assurance on a construction site is a plus.
