Our client is preparing a major overhaul of their plant located in Marchienne-au-Pont, Belgium, scheduled for the summer of 2027. We are looking for a temporary Buyer to assist them.
Organization
The shutdown work requires careful preparation now, while the plant is in operation. This work will be carried out in a context of intense activities, including maintenance, modifications and projects, while respecting the company’s safety requirements. The duration of maintenance activities is limited to minimize unavailability on the power grid. We are looking for expertise to help the our clients’ purchasing manager in the preparation of this major overhaul, in interaction with the Shutdown Manager and the dedicated team.
The missions include the autonomous definition of needs, the management of calls for tenders, the negotiation, writing and deployment of service contracts, as well as the deployment of purchase orders, under the supervision of the Site Purchasing Manager, the Major 2027 Shutdown Manager in coordination with the Global Procurement organization.
Function
Daily monitoring of the general progress of the preparation, shutdown and execution.
Participation in meetings to review the progress of the scopes on site.
Assistance to the Shutdown Manager and his team for feasibility studies of opportunity projects.
Coordination with the Procurement Manager of the Marchienne site for contractual opportunities with Global Procurement for existing framework contracts.
Carrying out market analyses, including cost analyses and benchmarks.
Management and qualification of a panel of suppliers, including the plant’s historical suppliers.
Management of supplier disputes.
