We are assisting our client in their search for an Automation Engineer.
The Automation Engineering team is responsible for the design, implementation, commissioning and optimisation of industrial automation systems supporting large-scale manufacturing operations. Working closely with process engineering, electrical engineering, production, IT and external contractors, the team ensures reliable, safe and efficient automation solutions throughout the complete project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will report to the Automation & Electrical Lead and will play a key role in the commissioning phase of a major battery materials production project.
The Automation Engineer will support one of Europe’s largest battery materials manufacturing initiatives. The project has entered a critical commissioning phase, requiring an experienced automation professional who can contribute immediately with minimal onboarding. The role covers the full automation lifecycle, including system implementation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, handover to operations and further optimisation activities.
Technical profile requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation engineering.
- Proven experience in commissioning industrial process installations.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- PLC programming o SCADA systems
- Industrial control systems
- Automation troubleshooting
- Experience throughout the automation lifecycle, from design to commissioning and handover.
- Ability to analyse and resolve complex technical problems in a fast-paced project environment.
- Experience working with contractors, system integrators and multidisciplinary project teams.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with Siemens automation technologies:
- Siemens PLCs
- Siemens SCADA solutions
- Siemens variable frequency drives/inverters
- I/O allocation and field instrumentation integration
- Experience in large greenfield industrial projects.
- Experience in battery materials, chemical, process or manufacturing industries.

- Experience with industrial commissioning methodologies.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and permit-to-work environments.
- Understanding of FAT/SAT processes and commissioning documentation.
- Relevant automation, electrical or engineering certifications are considered an asset.
Location: Nysa, Poland (100% on-site presence required)
Start: As soon as possible
Duration: Initial contract until 31/12/2026 for administrative purposes. Total project duration anticipated until August 2027.
